Background

Lumary have more than 30+ staff in the US and Australia who need to data load for their customers.

"Previously, our team encountered challenges as employees used various tools, including Jitterbit, Dataloader, and dataloader.io. This diverse tool landscape resulted in a lack of visibility into each other's data loads, especially given the collaborative nature of our work across multiple customers and the frequent handoff of activities between team members."

Jack McGrady, VP Product + Customer Experience

There was a number of inefficiencies in their previous process, without having visibility into what their colleagues were doing. Files, and mappings often needed to be reused, and there wasn't an easy way for team members to be able to use the work already done by others.

"There was no straightforward method to reuse mappings for our customer data migration template, causing redundancy in our workflows."

The absence of an easy rollback mechanism for correcting bad imports added further complications to their data management processes.

Decision

The Lumary team had closely followed Dataimporter's journey, and the regular product updates sparked significant interest among them.

"During our first trial of the software, it became evident that this product not only lived up to the hype but also excelled in addressing challenges that competitors had seemingly ignored for a long time."

Lumary were looking for an efficient way to share jobs and templates between team members. They needed to have strict control over who could see what customer's data, as well as project teams being able to see the data loads that have been completed.

"In the context of an ISV scenario, where we manage numerous customer orgs with a multitude of consultants or individuals responsible for data loads, the product has proven exceptionally helpful. The fair and reasonable costs associated with the product are justified by its ability to seamlessly solve the challenges mentioned earlier. In summary, the journey of this product, spearheaded by Sam, has captured our attention, and the software itself has become an indispensable tool for our team, offering a solution to long-standing challenges in a cost-effective manner."

Being a global company, with staff based in the US, and Australia having a localised server, and data storage were important factors. Lumary makes use of the different server locations, to ensure that their customers data is processed locally.

Implementation & Use

Lumary have used Dataimporter comprehensively, using it for CSV uploads, Sandbox Seeding, Salesforce to Salesforce migrations, and File uploads.

"The user-friendliness of dataimporter.io is exceptional, requiring zero training for Salesforce professionals. It's so straightforward that I confidently recommend it not only to my colleagues but also to our customers. Even consultants, initially hesitant to switch from their preferred products, become avid users after just one experience with dataimporter.io. What sets it apart are its advanced features like seeding, multi-object mapping, and org-to-org migration. These functionalities have proven invaluable in addressing our internal needs, especially when working in scratch orgs, conducting demonstrations, or validating realistic data in a non full-copy sandbox environment."

Being able to quickly test, and undo imports was a key use case for Lumary. Because of the volume of data and customers that they are processing data for, efficiency is key.

"A standout benefit is the rollback feature, which has saved us from many late-night efforts to reverse data. It provides a reassuring safety net for the person handling the data load. Overall, the positive changes and innovative functionalities of dataimporter.io have made its implementation a truly refreshing experience."

Lumary have rolled out Dataimporter to more than 20 employees, including Support, Product, Customer Success, and Onboarding. The Teams functionality ensures that the right people, see the right Jobs, Salesforce connections, and Integrations.
